EFCC Takes Over NIA's Bank Accounts.

N13bn Ikoyi cash: EFCC takes over NIA’s bank accounts  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has taken charge of the bank accounts operated by the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, the latest in a string of measures against the agency in the wake of last month’s discovery of N13 billion in a Lagos apartment, according to online portal, Premium Times. EFCC operatives The cash – comprising $43.5 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million hidden inside Apartment 7B at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi – was uncovered by operatives of the EFCC on April 12. Security sources said that operatives of the anti-graft agency compelled the Director of Finance and Administration of the NIA to hand over the accounts of the beleaguered agency to an Army officer attached to the Office of the National Security Adviser. DPO arrested over killing of fashion designer in Lagos.  THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Ijeshatedo Division, Lagos, Mohammed Yakubu, has been arrested in connection with the killing of a fashion designer, last weekend. Recall that Jamiu Ayoade, who had attended a friend’s birthday party at 49, Wosilat Daudu Street, Ijeshatedo, was reportedly shot at close range. Vanguard gathered that during investigation, the DPO informed the Command that he only led his men to the area following information that cultists were on rampage. He also denied that neither he nor his men fired any shot during their visit, describing claims that he shot the late Ayoade as a lie. She claims that when she asked for higher wages, she was slapped by Mr and Mrs Adewakun.  Pastor Ajidara is Dead Another Veteran Nollywood Actor, Adeshina Adesanya is dead. The thespian, known for his role as "Pastor Ajidara" in the movie "Abela Pupa" died as a result of kidney failure. His death was announced by Balaji Amusan (Mr. Latin) on Instagram who posted a picture of him in sick bed and wrote; "And the man died few minutes ago". Mr. Adeshina's health condition was initially made known to the public after Yomi Fash and Mr. Latin solicited help for their colleague. May his soul rest in peace R I P.

Updated: Defence, Army Chiefs, Finance Minister meet in Aso  In a bid to immediately end the humanitarian crisis in the North east, the Presidency on Friday held a meeting with Service Chiefs and other government officials. Those in the meeting included Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Buratai and Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adesun. A top presidency source who confided in Vanguard said that the meeting was urgently summoned to discuss measure that would lead to lasting solution to the humanitarian crisis in zone. The source added that the other military chiefs couldn’t make it to the meeting because they were not in town at the moment. It will be recalled that the region was ravaged by Boko Haram insurgency until it was liberated by the efforts of the Nigerian armed forces.
