Kudos to Kwara State police command

  DSP EJIRE-ADEYEMI TOUN *KWARA STATE POLICE COMMAND* 28TH MAY, 2024 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE *PROACTIVE POLICING AS KWARA STATE POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS CAR THEFT SYNDICATE* At approximately 1200hrs on 24/05/2024, detectives were alerted to suspicious activities at a dump site located around the Madi area along the Okolowo/Jebba Expressway in Ilorin, where individuals were seen dismantling a car. Upon arrival at the scene, Abdulateef Abdulwahab, Wasiu Musa, and Tajudeen Abdulrasak were arrested. A dismantled Nissan Almera car, ash in color, with Lagos registration number AKD919AU, was recovered. During interrogation, the suspects provided information leading to the arrest of additional accomplices namely: Usman Oseni, Abdulrasheed Jimoh, Abdulrasak Jamiu Ayinde, and Lukman Ibrahim, all residents of Ilorin, Kwara State. Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial district Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim has withdrawn lawsuit against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State. April 20th primary election, Aiyedatiwa emerged as the APC governorship candidate for the upcoming election in Ondo State, Nigeria. The issue didn't go well with the senator which made him approach a Federal High Court in Abuja. The Senator in his Tuesday statement, said this decision was a result of a  personal reach out by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria and Afenifere. According to him, he said that President Tinubu assured him of his commitment to enhancing internal democracy within the APC Party. "Based on his assurances and leadership, I have decided to withdraw the case to support his efforts to pave a new way forward for our party" Jimoh Ibrahim says.  Ibrahim also noted Aiyedatiwa's efforts and urged the public to see the withdrawn suit as a gift to mark President Tinubu 1year in Office. Kano High Court has ordered Aminu Ado Bayero to stop parading himself as the 15th Emir of Kano

  The court  issued an interim injunction preventing the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, from calling himself  Emir of Kano. The orders were delivered by Hon. Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu of the High Court No. 7 on Miller Road, Kano. The orders were by the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, and the State House of Assembly in a suit against Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and the four other deposed Emirs including Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa, and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya. The order reads: “That an order is hereby granted to the extent that the Commissioner of Police Kano State should immediately take over the palace of the Emir of Kano situate being and lying at State Road Kano and evict the 1 Defendant/Respondent from the said palace pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice dated 24th May, 2024.

Kano state governor calls for the arrest of the deposed emir of Kano Ado Bayero

  Kano state governor calls for arrest of the  former emir of Kano Ado Bayero  The order was  in a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Sanusi Tofa. The governor said Bayero should be arrested for allegedly creating tension in the state. The statement titled ‘Gov. Yusuf Orders Arrest of Deposed Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero,’ read, “The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered the immediate arrest of the former Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, for creating tension in the state. Bayero who no one has been aware of  his whereabouts since Thursday 3rd May 2024 the day he was deposed. He  returned back to his home state   Kano today, Saturday 25th May 2024. On the other hand, DSS general and top security chiefs met with the deposed emir in his mini palace, where he was moved too and solders surrounded the place   early hours of Saturday.

   Ebrahim Raisi was elected president at the second attempt in 2021, and since taking office has ordered a tightening of morality laws, overseen a bloody crackdown on anti-government protests and pushed hard in nuclear talks with world powers. Many see him as burnishing his credentials to become Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's successor as Iran's Supreme Leader.  One of the helicopters in a group carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi made a rough landing and rescue teams are on the way to the site of the incident, Iran's interior minister said on Sunday. The Iranian official news agency IRNA said the helicopter involved in the incident had been carrying Raisi as well as Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and local officials.

Prince Harry and Meghan arrive in Nigeria

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex arrives  at the Nigerian Armed Forces’ Defence Headquarters in Abuja. The Duke and Duchess arrived the DHQ at about 12:45 pm on Friday 10/5/24  The military high command had on Thursday revealed that their visit to Nigeria will focus on engaging with the nation’s wounded and injured soldiers and their families. Prince Harry’s decision to visit Nigeria followed an invite by the military. The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry in 2014 is an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick military personnel that offers support, recovery pathways and rehabilitation for the personnel. The military high command also hopes to host the Games in Nigeria and believe Prince Harry's visit will facilitate the establishment of it in Abuja, Nigeria Speaking to journalists earlier, Prince Harry's friend, David Wiseman commented on the significance of the trip.
