Four Persons Die in Accident

4 persons, weekend, lost their lives while two others sustained life-threatening injuries in a head-on collision between two commercial motorcycles, Okada, along the Edjekota-Ogor Road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. Eyewitnesses told Vanguard that both motorcycles, which had two passengers each, excluding the riders, were heading to and from a funeral reception taking place in the area, when the accident occurred. One of the eyewitnesses identified one of the okadamen as Oyibo, an indigene of Uwheru and Ewu-Urhobo, both in Ughelli North and South council areas. It was a gory sight when Vanguard got to the scene, as the mangled remains of the victims were seen on the ground.

ribery Allegations: Fifth Prosecution Witness Testifies Against Justice Ajumogobia Channels Television .    6 A fifth prosecution witness on Friday testified at the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, in the case of alleged bribery against a Federal High Court Judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia. Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia is standing trial along with a senior lawyer, Godwin Obla, who is accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of bribing the judge with five million naira.  person dies in Kenyas primary elections Nairobi - A Kenyan police official says one person has died and another was injured in hotly contested primary elections in the capital Nairobi. Both opposition and ruling party primaries which started last week have experienced chaotic scenes and accusations of rigging. The ruling Jubilee Party had to postpone the start of its primaries because of a shortage of voting materials. Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome said on Wednesday a fight started between rival camps after accusations that a candidate's posters were defaced in the Pangani area. Koome said one person was stabbed and when he fled he was hit by a car and died. The US government has asked its citizens in or travelling to Kenya to be alert to the security situation as the country heads toward general elections in August.

Alfred Aderibigbe, a medical assistant with a community health center in Ede, Osun State, has been arrested by the Police for allegedly causing the death of Mr. Isiaka Adeleke, a senator and former governor of the state, on  Sunday. The medical has been accused of practicing medicine illegally and injecting Mr. Adeleke with an overdose of the medication that caused his death. Aderibigbe was arrested on Tuesday and is currently detained at the State Investigation Bureau of the Nigeria Police in Oshogbo, where he is being investigated. Preliminary report of an autopsy ordered by the Osun State government and Mr. Adeleke’s family showed that the senator died of drug overdose. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has organized a manhunt for a Lagos socialite and suspected drug baroness wanted in connection with cocaine trafficking. The suspect, Fumilola Arike Ogbuaya, also known as Arike Fumilola Ogundipe, allegedly was involved in smuggling 1.595kg of cocaine from Murtala Muhammed International Airport to Saudi Arabia in February 2017. NDLEA spokesman Mitchell Ofoyeju said the agency is also investigating Mrs. Ogbuaya’s multi-billion naira assets, allegedly the proceeds of drug sales. The anti-narcotics agency commenced investigation into Mrs. Ogbuaya after arresting one Odeyemi Omolara Morayo, also known as Ariyo Monsurat Olabisi, for drug trafficking. Investigation into Mr. Morayo implicated Mrs. Ogbuaya, according to the NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport. He said that the NDLEA then invited the Lagos socialite in for questioning to no avail. Senator Isiaka Adeleke Dies At 62 Channels .  ,  A member of the Nigerian Senate, representing Osun West Senatorial district, Isiaka Adeleke, has died at 62. According to family sources, Mr Adeleke died in the early hours of Sunday, at Bikets Hospital in Oshogbo, the Osun state capital, after suffering a heart attack. Mr Adeleke, who was the first governor of the state in 1992, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected into the Senate in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
