Auto crashes claim 20 lives in Ogun, Jigawa Scene of the Ogun crash Samuel Awoyinfa and Adelani Adepegba Twenty persons have been killed in separate auto crashes in Ogun and Jigawa states. It was gathered that while five persons died in the Ogun crash on Sunday, 15 persons were killed in the Jigawa crash on Saturday. In Ogun, apart from the five dead victims, 13 others were said to have sustained injuries after a commercial bus en route from Ibadan, Oyo State, to Lagos State veered off the road and rammed into a stationary truck. Those who died in the accident were said to be three adult males, a female and a boy. It was gathered that the accident occurred around 9am in the WAZOBIA area of Ogere on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The Ogun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Clement Oladele, said the vehicles involved were a white Mazda passenger bus with number plate, DDA 121 XA, and a red MAN Diesel truck marked, MGD 129 ZF. ...

A disturbing video showing a woman getting raped has gone viral and it was allegedly shared by the victim. According to social media, the woman who livestreamed it claimed that she was kidnapped then sexually assaulted by her abductor. She appears to have hidden a camera where her alleged attacker couldn't see it and it recorded the incident. The identity of the woman was not revealed neither was it stated if the attacker was caught and made to face the law. Watch the video here .

The Federal Road Safety Corps has said that five persons died and 13 others were injured in an accident that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday in a New Year eve tragedy. Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Clement Oladele, told the News Agency of Nigeria in an interview in Ota, Ogun, that the accident occurred at Wazobia, at about 9.00 a.m. Oladele said two vehicles and 18 persons were involved in the accident that resulted in the death of five persons, while 13 others sustained various degrees of injuries. One Olugbenga Jeremiah Oduwole who claims to be a Yoruba traditional ruler with the title of Oriade Of Iranmiyi Kingdom, Adeyenmi II, with his purported palace situated at No 1, Palace Way, Iranmiyi Kingdom, Ogun State, has been arrested in Lagos. According to reports, his arrest came after the Oba of Kweme Kingdom in Badagry, Aholu Olalekan Sejiro James, got reports that Oduwole was claiming to be his friend and using that to collect money from people. Oduwole was picked up on December 21, 2017, in Gbagada, by a Team of detectives from Ifako Police Station and has since been moved to the Police Force Headquarters in Ikeja.
