The Duke and Duchess of Susssex Prince Harry and Meghan are set to visit Nigeria in west Africa. Nigeria is the most populous black nation on earth. It is home to the second largest flim industry whilst also being on fashion, They are set to visit the country in May for talks on invictus sports. A statement from Nigerian defense spokesman Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau did not say exactly when the Duke of Sussex will arrive in Africa, a place he has long said is close to his heart. Harry is expected to make the trip after a service at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the games.  The Invictus Games was founded as a sporting event for injured and sick military personnel and veterans. The couple will meet service members and their families, and participate in traditional cultural activities, Nigerian media reported. It will be their first visit to Nigeria as a couple 

 Mr Alaba Excel Abbey, one of the campaign coordinators for Governor of Ondo state, Nigeria Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been killed. Abbey, who served as a ward coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Group was killed a t his home in Supare Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state,  The Director-General, David Ajobiewe, who condemned the killing of Mr Abbey, stated that he wasn’t a violent person. He urged the police to get to the bottom of the death of the late coordinator. 

  Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak Rwanda bill has finally became law after a latenight in the House of Parliament last night 22/04/24. Sunak said in a statement "nothing will stand in our way" now of getting flights off the ground. But the schemes could still be held up by challenges in the courts. Ahead of the approval of the bill, Rishi Sunak said flights to Rwanda would take off within 10 to 12 weeks, missing his original spring target. A lawyer representing some of those who could potentially be sent to Rwanda suggested there may be other routes to stop flights taking off. Nicholas Hughes, a solicitor at a law firm Duncan Lewis, represents dozens of people who were affected when the flights were first planned in 2022, he also stated they are likely to represent clients selected for potential future flights to Rwanda.

Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju, popularly known as bobrisky is a Nigerian transgender woman and LGBT personality. She is well known for her viral "bobrisky" dance in 2021. Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the federal High court, Lagos, in her sentence, stated the judgment will serve as a discouragement to others who are found of abusing the naira. The controversial internet personality Bobrisky has been sentenced to six months imprisonment without an alternative of fine for abusing the Naira currency. Before the sentence, the judge asked Bobrisky about his gender, he rapidly said that he is a man. He was later  sentenced to serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, Lagos Nigeria.   The pan socio-cultural organization Afenifere has appointed Abagun Kole Omololu as acting secretary General of the organisation after their meeting today.  Chief Kole Omololu was the Organising Secretary until his new appointment. 

This Song was written by Pa Obafemi Awolowo for Afenifere- UPN around 1980 or so. It was composed by Pa Hubert Ogunde. It has for ever, been recited and sang at the beginning of any Afenifere meetings. I also realised that Yoruba Tennis Club adopted it as their anthem too. Credit is given to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who adopted it for Oshun state thereby making it available for wider Yoruba audience. Ondo state under our late Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu also adopted it. All Yoruba States are being awaited to follow suit.
