The Real Thing singer Eddy Amoo dies
The Real Thing singer Eddy Amoo, who had a Number One hit with the British soul group's 1976 song You to Me Are Everything, has died suddenly in Australia. He was 74.
Amoo's death was announced by his brother Chris and bandmate Dave Smith, who still perform with The Real Thing.
"It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our brother and inspiration, Eddy Amoo, who passed away on 23rd February, age 74," they said in a tweet.
The band later thanked fans for their messages of support and said they would continue touring.
Considered a groundbreaking British act of the 1970s, The Real Thing formed in Liverpool in 1972.
Their other hits included Can You Feel the Force? and Can't Get By Without You.
