Am not an Emir says the Oluwo of Iwoland.

The Oluwo of Iwoland Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi denies the ongoing controversy about him changing to be the first Emir of yoruba land. Oba Akanbi said this to London Celebrity blogger Akogun Tunde Omololu last thursday, on Facebook live show of David Hamilton Voice [DHV].
At the commencement of the show, there was a lot of criticism from the host, viewers and callers all around the world, saying that we should not mix religion with tradition and that they are ready to do anything to keep the Oba title in Iwo, as they do not want Iwo to be like Ilorin Afonja.
Suddenly, a call came in from Nigeria, the caller said the Oba did not say he is an Emir and that the Oba's press secretary will call in to address the issue. As the show progresses another call came in, lo and behold it was the King himself.
He said he did not say he is an Emir, the press told lies against him by misinterpreting and twisting some parables and examples he gave. Whereas all he meant is that we Nigerians should live in unity, see ourselves as one and accept one another irrespective of our tribe. He wants all Oba to see themselves as father to the nation and not just to their tribe or kingdom.
The host further asked him why his wife 'Olori' wears a crown? he said it is to identify and differentiate her from other women. That in history the Queens of Egypt wears crown and that Oduduwa brought the style to Yoruba Kingdom by crowning his 1st wife Olokun. This history can be viewed in Ife Museum.
The humble Monarch also touched so many areas.
After listening to the King's explanation, thousands of people on the live show including the host had a positive change of heart about the king regarding the controversy compared to how they felt initially. Some of them said they were going to use the King's picture as their profile photograph on Facebook.
Wikkendcrew gathered that the King was in a meeting when he learnt about the show, he had to cut the meeting short so that he can address the show by himself.
The full interview is on David Hamilton Voice 234 on Facebook or Calestos Omololu on Youtube.
